Tethered Paraglider Operations

During the summer months, pilots should use caution for paraglider activity which occurs over the beach approximately 2-5nm N-NW of Seaside Municipal Airport (red crosshatch area in below graphic, and depicted on the sectional charts with the Hang Glider Activity symbol). Paragliders are towed to altitudes up to 3000' MSL using a tow vehicle with a winch and a 3000' long cable. The operators announce and monitor both 122.8 and 122.9 (usually).
